With all candor, Majid Ghorbani, a master in strategic management, gave a lecture backed, as he promised, by solid facts, helping us think about the current global outlook and the emerging new technology - the only claim I contend is that lawyers could be bound for disappearing!
Fortunately and in the spirit of a fruitful discussion, had the chance to make my case, namely that lawyers have been around since Ancient Greece and represent a fundamental piece in erecting the monument that we call Justice and which is at the center of any society - not just perceived, but actual Justice. I do agree though that AI is fostering operational efficiency, like in any field, and further helping on the access to the law (much further can be done in that regard).
It was an privilege to sit on the panel with fellow Global EMBAs Chao Deng and Anita to explore different perspectives, with the general theme being, HongKong and mainland China remain super competitive jurisdictions, just one has to consider the goal of investment and, as the Professor said, it doesn't harm to hedge bets, quite the contrary, that goes for every project.
Great to see our CEIBS #alumni herein (especially my esteemed classmate Ryan Chen and some just visiting - that's the 中欧家人). Likewise thanks to all others that came along !
