The start of this project goes back to our sense of frustration over seeing plastic water bottles around the campus - if our initial response was writing Greta-style essays (a hint I got from our esteemed director Bala Ramasamy), as leaders we then thought (inspired by the words of JFK'ennedy) ask not what they can do for you, ask what you can do, in case, for our dear China Europe International Business School (CEIBS).
After numerous back and forths, we went for sth simple, replacing the plastic bottles with stainless steel flasks, which merited the support of the school (which helped with the certain logistics required for this) and immediate adoption by classmates as responsible leaders. Thanks as well to the word of support by Prof. Katherine Xin, who reminded us this is actually the policy of our Zurich campus.
The numbers are in, we saved 1320 plastic water bottles just on this module! Albeit a successful proof of concept, our ambition was always beyond and the class, led on this by passion-driven Henrik Ottosson and Iryna, we can't lose momentum and thus we will now be working hard to achieve our ultimate goal of eradicating plastic.
