On May 16th, we got the chance in Macau to cheer to Europe's day, celebrating peace and unity, a message that is worth remembering and hopefully emulating globally given the unfortunate fractional reality that we currently witness in many parts of the world. As departing Ambassador Tom Gnocchi (to Japan, joining a former and esteemed Portuguese CG in Macau/HK, Amb. Vítor Sereno) referred, the EU is a very relevant trade partner of Hong Kong and Macau, which serves to, just like in the history of the European Union with its member states, to strengthen our relationship and drive mutual constructive growth.
Likewise a farewell and best wishes bid to trade chief Walter van Hattum, who will continue spreading the EU economic ties further and beyond!
