After the COVID hiatus, the Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macau Lawyers βοΈ Sports Meet is back for its 9th edition - I can now proudly say I've participated in half of these events - proof that I'm officially aging (my hope? just like a fine wine..).
Despite the differences in our legal systems, out on the field, we all speak the same language: fair play. Just like in our profession, where, despite navigating the occasionally adversarial waters, our ultimate goal remains the same: achieving fair results. And we made it, HK's Chief Justice Andrew was there and I didn't see him showing any red card π₯
Now, the elephant in the room: my injuries (or perhaps just lack of skill, as the photos might suggest) π€ but more important was to reconnect with many friends from the neighboring jurisdictions. In fact, this meet isn't just about sports or our legal prowess; it's about fostering friendships among like-minded folks across the Greater Bay Area and propelling it (us!) forward.
Thanks to my own law society for the arrangements (πPres. Vong, Sec. Gen. Oriana, Dr. Ken and Selina & Heluisa), The Law Society of Hong Kong for the stellar organization (π Pres. Roden Tong), and Guangdong for tagging along (and showing us that we really don't stand a chance in football β½ - we are stubborn though, so I guess we will have to keep trying..)π
