Another year, another opportunity to celebrate Macau Lawyer Day - a tradition that’s less about us, but more about thanking the community for trusting us to serve Lady Justice (and hopefully making society a little fairer along the way).
As part of the festivities, we hold free legal consultations, seminars, and our - eagerly awaited - annual sports showdown. This year, the Macau Lawyers Association (AAM) and the Legal Affairs Bureau (DSAJ) teamed up on the football pitch to take on the Macau’s firefighters (CB)🔥.
Now, I won’t keep you in suspense - let’s just say the firefighters lived up to their reputation. Turns out, being physically superior does help when your job is literally saving lives - who knew..?
On the bright side, I got to flex my (professionally certified!) referee skills - which, much like mediation in my day job, involves keeping everyone in line while pretending I’m in control.
I did, however, snag a consolation trophy in the running competition - because at 35 (and counting), I’ve accepted that it’s all downhill from here. Gotta collect those medals while I still can 🏃♂️💨
But let’s be honest - the real highlight is the camaraderie dinner afterward. Because nothing brings people together like good food and shared exhaustion.
Thanks to AAM (board, sports leaders, and secretariat), DSAJ, and CB! Here’s to justice, sportsmanship, and maybe a rematch next year 😉
