Today, we commemorate the 25th anniversary of Macau (handover). Over these years, Macau has thrived under the "one country, two systems" framework, achieving remarkable growth while prioritizing stability and the well-being of its people.
During his visit, Chairman Xi emphasized that while Macau should be lauded for its success, it must not become complacent, with innovation being crucial to drive the much needed economic diversification.
I was also so glad to hear his vision for an inclusive society, one that honors the rich tapestry of East meets West that has defined the city for centuries, particularly the interesting role that it can play within the Portuguese speaking world.
As a humble servant of this community, I am eager to contribute to this journey and hopefully towards a brighter future for Macau, GBA and China!
Was interviewed by kind friends at China Daily and Xinhua, highlighting our role as "ambassadors" to China's potential and the role the SARs will continue to play in it.
I have previously written my thoughts on how we can move forward: https://www.macaubusiness.com/opinion-ga-yau-sam-hou-fai-my-two-cents/
