Oxfam Hong Kong Grant for Good 2025

Innovate, Elevate, Alleviate!

📣 Honoring pioneering projects that blend technology with community power to fight poverty - award ceremony.

During my EMBA, I was pleasantly surprised to see how social enterprise can be a perfect match. Take the Xihaner car wash in Shenzhen, for example, where intellectual disabilities are transformed into valuable assets for employees.

Oxfam HK (OHK) is on a mission to draft the champions of tomorrow, matching the HKGov funding - thanks to the SIE Fund Advisory Network (SIE FAN) - and in collaboration with acceleration expert Cyberport Hong Kong. From heat-shielding fabric to quirky spiders, dance groups of social minorities, and even raising awareness about ADHD (just by talking).

Everyone was just bursting with ideas - these projects were as diverse as they were inspiring. Though I see the struggle of the engineers trying to explain technology to us lawyers on the Oxfam HK Council, kinda like watching a cat trying to teach a dog to fetch!

A huge thanks to Oxfam's partners in this initiative, especially Kevin G. Orr, all the winners, and the incredible Oxfam team, under Director of Ops Henry Tang and the Director of Programmes wong shek hung, for organizing such a fantastic event at The Mills Factory.

Lastly, let me congratulate our new Director General, Betty Pun - here’s to #elevating Oxfam HK with #innovation as we work towards our ultimate goal: #alleviating 🌏 poverty!
