Welcoming UN Under Sec. Gen Ghada Waly

A Macau welcoming to United Nations Under-Secretary-General Waly, fondly known as UN's anti-crime tsar, to exchange thoughts on rehabilitation, criminal justice and even micro finance, a subject she is definitely versed having been a poverty reduction champion on a previous life. Great meeting her chief of staff Jeremy (carrying a solid 10 years UN work in Thailand previously) and finance crime expert Hong Victor Lee, ICAC HK officer on commission.

This was only possible because of Augusto Nogueira, who himself is an outstanding story of resilience. As president of ARTM, a local association with dedades of service to harm reduction, had his work recognised by both the Macau Gov, an Altruistic Medal of Merit, and Portugal, w a commendation medal for the services to the community. There's currently an exhibition at the center in Ka Ho (H2H Gallery), with art made by inmates in a collaboration with the Macau Correctional Services (just another of their pioneering initiatives). The organization runs on the kindness of people and companies that continue to support it - every cent counts!

Lastly, a thank to the host archt. Nuno Jorge, Pres. of the Organization of the Families of Asia and the Pacific, and a person with life-long work in civil society.
